We think they are Swedish in origin, from Värmland ? They are great anyhow. And we have many more varieties. Up here in Lapland we have Gáhkku and Habberbröd.

Had to look them up. No, our buns are with cardamom, and we fill them with almond paste and whipped cream. Eat them preferably with hot milk.

I agree. Never thought that much on it before you asked. But looking at recipes I see that there are much more variation than I first believed. Why can't people stick to the one true recipe? ;-)

Yes, studies on our gut microbiome is a very interesting field. Just scratched the surface yet.

And I suppose there will be more surprises like that in the years to come. We are complex.
